YLIAN'S MESSED UP LIFE
Aiyo
So many things happen, i should really learn from yl how she do that pro thing hahaha!!
Ok hmmmm, lets just talk abt SCSM 08. Which is Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2008 for short.
Well no i didnt join the run and no i didnt volunteer for the actual run. What me and ql did was ushering at Expo during the Race Pack Collection period from 4-6dec 08. We got 20bucks a day, 3 meals a day, 2 adidas volunteer shirts for 3 days and a 20% discount for adidas merchandise. I think it was pretty alright though it means that there were LESSER time for us to study for MAF mid sem test which just ended TODAY.
The first day was damn chaotic and i dun want to say anymore abt that day other than it was really bad from the viewpoint of the runner who is coming to get his/her race pack. But well, since it was the first year the collection take place in Expo instead of its past location, so trial and error la huh. The first person who queued in line came at 6AM when we opened at 12PM. Thats what i call a pro person who have nth better to do than queue 6HOURS earlier to get that measly run pack. Not worth it according to me. There were about 18,000 collections that day. So deducted from the 50,000 ppl who signed up for this run, we've got 32,000 more to go. Whoopee!
The second day was hell lot easier than the first day, the people just streamed in while we ushers just 'PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR CONFIRMATION SLIP AND PHOTO ID WITH YOU!' or smth similar to that. Time passed pretty quickly, i persuaded vicki to come disturb us at expo which she did, bringing Jelly and ZhiLIN along. Had a damn entertaining 20mins or so talk/show depending on who you are then they left to see the other sales/expo there. Had about 14,000 collections that day.
WARNING: DAMN BAD MOOD APPROACHING. SKIP THIS PARAGRAPH IF YOU WISH TO.
The third day finally arrived, the doors opened earlier that day and there were a constant flow of people walking in to get their packs. Were supposed to close the doors at 5pm but we had to close the doors at 4pm liddat becoz there wasnt sufficient race shirts. WOW. Damn neat. And people really like to come collect their stuffs at like what 1-1/2 hour before the closing time so whats behind the doors outside? DAMN lot of ppl queuing trying to get into the hall. And i damn BU SHUANG at a BLOODY incident. I had to open the door to allow the people to leave the hall mah, then outside like 10 guys pushing to get in, with a bloody stupid UNCLE using his bloody fat right foot blocking me from closing the protective door. Then another BLOODY STUPID UNCLE shouted in my face asking whats happening inside. So i said there's a technical problem which was what we were told to say when asked. Then that BLOODY uncle had a problem with my answer and wanted to talk to my MANAGER, which he repeated like 5 times. In the FIRST place i dun have a MANAGER which he can talked to since there's like NO useful authority head who can give him a satisfactory answer and SECONDLY i dun have a hearing problem so he didnt have to repeat 5 TIMES. WHATS HIS STUPID PROBLEM! Then that first UNCLE finally released his right foot from the door and when i slammed the door shut, what happen? I got shouted at by another STUPID uncle who demanded why i opened the door and said not to let anyone in. I THINK that uncle is BLOODY HELL BLIND coz NO bloody SOUL entered the hall AT ALL. And he's the one who told us to open the doors if people want to leave the hall which i did becoz there were people leaving so WHATS HIS PROBLEM BY CONTRADICTING HIMSELF BLOODY STUPID UNCLE! If not for a security guy who came to sort of calmed me down i SWEAR i surely scold that bloody uncle for being so damn STUPID. And he scolded at another volunteer through a walkie-talkie he borrowed from someone else and then just threw the w-t back. Totally hate that stupid uncle, lucky i didnt see him at all after that.
So yeah this event finally ended, more friends were made from diff schools, ql got to see another side of me, i got immuned to ql's ramblings while she's getting immune to my random shocking her acts. Overall it was a pretty damn fun event. See pictures in fb as usual. AND no, i wouldnt volunteer next year. FOR SURE.
Scratched,
Lianmei
